Longest school lockdown in the world
At least there is a glimmer of hope; the vocational schools and universities reopened at the beginning of November. The President announced that all students will be able to go back to school in January. Online teaching is only available for the better-off few. Internet is mostly a foreign word here in the country and not affordable.
In order to provide practical support to our sponsored children at home, we have given out monthly amounts of money or food packages. These consisted mostly of cornmeal, rice, beans, sugar, oil, salt, cookies and much more. From time to time we have also helped the elderly or people with disabilities. The joy was always very, very great, as you can see in the photos. In addition to incredulous faces, especially from the older ones, there were also tears of joy again and again.
Thank you for your loyal support in these challenging times.
Proverbs 19.17 He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for good.
