Grass

The dry, 150m long grass is used to cover the roofs. The women from the neighboring villages and the next small town come with their sickles, which they wear elegantly on their heads and they start their hard work in the heat of over 40 Degree. First the grass is cut, then dried, then tied and finally it is either carried to the respective village or to the next small town for sale. That means a 12 km walk with a 25kg bundle of grass on your head. The revenue for a bundle is 1 !! Euro.
As you can see, I also tried to wear one, but only got a few meters. As so often, my greatest respect goes to the women here. The way they make a living doing hard work and caring for their families is just admirable.

Our current project

Classrooms and Accommodation

At our village school in Got Apwoyo, we need more classrooms and accommodation for teachers. Currently, we only have the capacity to teach children from kindergarten to third grade. Many of the children then have to stop attending school because their parents don't have the money to send them to boarding school.
To start with, we need €10,000 for one classroom and two basic teacher accommodations.

Thank you so much for every contribution, no matter how small or large – every euro counts!

Vision

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
